March Weddings
Winter is on its way out and hints of spring are starting to sprout, making March a refreshing alternative to summer weddings or cozy winter affairs.
Advantages

- Transitional weather can be unpredictable.
- Spring florals may not be available.
- Family and friends away on spring break vacations may not be able to attend.
- Invites will need to be sent around Christmas, and could get lost in the mail.
- Destination weddings and honeymoons may be expensive due to demand for travel, venues, and vendors.
Decor
As you get closer to spring, you can start incorporating lighter and warmer colors, as well as springtime motifs, into your event decor rather than relying on typical winter wedding themes like snow or evergreen.
Instead of tree boughs and winter greenery like rosemary, opt for softer greenery like ferns and spring-like florals, such as:
- Hydrangea
- Silver dollar eucalyptus
- Freesia
- Ranunculus
- Tulips
By now, everyone is likely getting sick of being cooped up indoors while the snow flies. If the weather in your area doesn’t permit you to spend any time outdoors, forecast the sunny weather that’s to come in using fresh greenery and bright hues paired with muted neutrals or jewel tones—it’s not summer yet, after all.
Colors
Warmer colors are perfect for the transitional period between winter and spring:
- Pink: Bright magentas or dusty blushes are both perfect for a March wedding.
- Teal or mint green: Lighter shades of green are a little warmer than a traditional winter ice blue, especially when paired with a pale peach like this bouquet
- Mauve: This muted purple is a lovely almost-springtime alternative to a wintery jewel tone.
- Orange: Vibrant orange looks stunning with deep burgundies and navy blue, or even with pink for a livelier palette.

Pastel Envelopes: Pastels are light and fun, and perfect for spring. Plus, a pastel envelope is sure to get noticed amongst the holiday-themed greetings your recipients are bound to receive around Christmas.
Hand Lettering: Convey a sense of whimsy in line with the changing seasons using a hand lettering or a cute script font.
Graphic Motifs: Rather than using floral or other seasonal motifs, opt for a graphic design such as polka dots, chevrons, or stripes, to avoid any associations with winter or spring.
