Countdown to Fun: DIY New Year’s Eve Decorations and Party Printables

Let the countdown begin! In the rush and bustle of the holiday season, New Year’s Eve can easily sneak up on you. Instead of cramming your party planning and preparations into the busy week between Christmas and New Year’s, start tackling the easiest (and most exciting) items on your to-do list before Santa’s sleigh arrives: decorations!

Don’t invest tons of money into fancy decorations you’ll only use once. Get the whole family involved in the party and create your own decorations using paper, some basic crafting supplies, and a little creativity.

Here are some of our favorite paper NYE decorations and party paraphernalia:

1. Star Garlands

6. New Year’s Eve Party Game

Whether you play this game with your kids or save it for your adult friends, get ready for some great throwbacks! Not only does this game make a great conversation starter, but it’s also a fantastic way to get to know your guests a little better.

You can find the printables at Alice & Lois.

7. Printable Calendar

Get ready for the new year with this lovely hand lettered printable calendar.

Get the printables from Cassie Scroggins. For a more durable calendar, print it onto this white card stock.

8. Banner and Photo Backdrop

Add a colorful touch to your party with this easy banner and photo backdrop. Try using NYE classics like silver, gold, and black, or create the same look pictured above using gold, copper, bronze, and pink.

To make this backgrop, simply cut out letters and circles and attach them to string. Punch holes in the letters to create the banner, or glue the circles to string to create the draping backdrop. If you’re feeling ambitious, you could also try sewing the circles together for a stronger hold.

9. 3D Stars

These impressive three-dimensional stars are a great decoration for your tabletop or mantelpiece.
