Spread Love with These Fun and Easy Valentine’s Day Paper Crafts

Valentine’s Day is perhaps the most mercurial “holiday” on our calendar. Some people think it’s just a day made up to sell more flowers, chocolates, and greeting cards, but for others it’s the one day a year where they get to celebrate their love (and be celebrated by their love). Kids love it, single teenagers and adults hate it, and others completely ignore it.

However you feel about Valentine’s Day, sometimes you just can’t avoid it. Maybe your kids want to hand out cards to their classmates, or maybe your partner is a hopeless romantic – luckily, we’re here to help you show the love.

Check out this list of our favorite cards, gifts, and decorations. They’re all easy to make using one main ingredient – paper.

Cards & Gifts For The Kids

Super Valentine Card

This is a great, simple Valentine’s card for kids. All you have to do is print it, cut it out, and poke a lollipop through it. The hardest thing is not succumbing to the temptation of eating a lollipop.

draw and cut out your own capes using colorful cardstock. Here are our paper suggestions:

Folding Heart Cards

Here’s another easy card for the kids. Simply cut out a heart, fold it into the shape of an envelope, and write a message on the inside!

Try using a lighter weight paper instead of cardstock – it’ll fold easier. Check out our selection of red, pink, and white papers.

Hand Valentines

Just when you thought our suggestions couldn’t get any easier, they do. This one doesn’t even require help from an adult – all your kids have to do is trace their hand, cut it out, and write a message.

We suggest using a more substantial paper, such as a 65 or 80 lb. cardstock. You can shop our selection of cardstock by color here.

Valentine’s Bookmark

These bookmarks are cheap and easy to make, which makes them the perfect gift for an entire classroom (and one the teacher will probably appreciate more than candy).

Try using whatever craft punches you have on hand – you can even customize the bookmark to the giftee! You can use any color you like, but here are some of our favorites:

Cards & Gifts For Adults

3D Pop-Up Cards

This one is a bit more complicated – too much work for your kid’s 30 classmates, but perfect for that special someone or your close friends. Learn how to make your own 3D pop-up cards here.

Try using pink cardstock, or your partner’s favorite colors. Here are some recommendations:

Love Coupons

This gift is probably best left for couples, unless you’re unusually close with your friends. All you have to do is print out these love coupons, stuff them in envelopes, and you’re good to go! You can download the printable here, from Sarah Hearts.

You can even substitute in your own love coupons to customize your gift for your partner.

The only supplies you need are white cardstock and A2 envelopes. Here are our suggestions:

If you don’t want to use red envelopes, check out the rest of our selection of A2 envelopes.

Paper Flowers

Paper flowers are a great Valentine’s gift for anyone, from your co-workers to your parents. Plus, they never die! Find out how to make them here.

We think your bouquet will be especially festive and beautiful using these colors:

Decorations

3D Paper Hearts

If you’re one of those people who loooove Valentine’s Day, this decoration is perfect for you. Turn a boring wall (perhaps the one by your breakfast table?) into a work of art by hanging some 3D paper hearts in different sizes.

They’re so cute, chances are you’ll leave them up after February 14th. In fact, they’re so cute, this writer might be tempted to put them up herself, even though she’s definitely not one of those people who love Valentine’s Day. Find out how to make them here, thanks to How About Orange.

You can make them in any color, but here are our red and pink recommendations:
