In 2023, Pantone invites us to the “Magentaverse” with its color of the year: Viva Magenta (18-1750). This rich red hue was selected by their “global team of color experts [who] comb the world looking for new color influences.”
According to Pantone Vice President Laurie Pressman, they draw inspiration from a wide variety of sectors, including “the entertainment industry and films in production, traveling art collections and new artists, fashion, all areas of design, aspirational travel destinations, new lifestyles, playstyles or enjoyable escapes as well as socio-economic conditions, [as well as] new technologies, materials, textures and effects that impact color, relevant social media platforms and even upcoming sporting events that capture worldwide attention.”
