Planning a wedding can get overwhelming fast, but luckily, there’s tons of resources out there to help make the process smoother and as stress free as possible. But what about the often overlooked parts of the planning process, like your bridal shower? For some brides, it’s easy to let these smaller events become an afterthought, but they shouldn’t be! We’re sharing 5 tips to make sure your bridal shower is as picture perfect as your wedding day will be.

1. Set the tone with gorgeous invitations

Just like you did for your wedding day, set the tone for your bridal shower and let guests know what they can expect with stunning stationery. Whether it’s flowery and romantic, or chic and modern, an invitation is the first clue your guests have to your event, so have fun with it!

2. Get your girls involved with a fun DIY project!

Add a special touch to your soiree and spend some quality time with your girls by getting together for an afternoon of DIY projects that you can use as decor at your shower. Some fun ideas? Tulle poufs to hang from the ceiling, bunting banners that have fun sayings, or make cute menu signs for the food that’ll be served.

3. Plan ways to get people comfortable with each other

If you’re inviting people that don’t know each other, make it easy on them. Plan a cute name tag station (some scrapbook paper and pretty pens are all it takes!) and an ice breaker or two will get people mixing and mingling.

4. Make a fun guestbook as a keepsake

Provide each guest with a pretty piece of paper to write a note of well wishes on, and then place them in a scrapbook or photo album to look back on. You’ll love flipping through all the sweet notes from your loved ones!

5. Handcraft your thank you notes!

You’re likely to get gifts at your bridal shower, which means you’ll be sending thank you notes. Going old school and making them isn’t just fun, but it lends a special touch that lets people know you really appreciate them. Grab some paper, some cute stickers and a calligraphy pen and get to work!

Try using a fun metallic or bright shade for your thank you cards! Save time with pre-cut and folded notecards like these:

Considering the little touches when it comes to your bridal shower can help make this event just as special as your big day, and leave you with some beautiful mementos.
